About
aBOUT
Greetings, fellow residents of Herndon!
I am Soma Ramesh and I am excited to introduce myself as a candidate for member of the Town council in in our wonderful town. Allow me to share a bit about who I am and why I am passionate about serving our community.
Background
I am a proud resident of Herndon for over 10 years, and this town holds a special place in my heart. I moved to Northern Virginia from Cincinnati, Ohio in 2012 as my daughter was starting at American University. I also took up an assignment as a Vice President for a GE Spinoff. I moved to Herndon soon after and fell in love with our diverse town.
Community Involvement
My commitment to community service runs deep. I have been actively involved in Potomac Fairways HOA for 6 years where I learnt quite a bit of the opportunities and challenges of 190 households. I am serving now as the Vice Chair of the Herndon Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee. These experiences have given me a profound understanding of the issues facing our town and have fueled my desire to contribute positively to its future.
Values
I believe in the power of collaboration, empathy, and integrity. As your Town Council member, I am dedicated to serving with transparency, accountability, and inclusivity. I am committed to listening to the diverse voices of our community and working together to find innovative solutions to our challenges.
Vision
I envision a Herndon that is thriving, inclusive, and sustainable—a place where every resident feels valued and empowered to contribute to our collective success. I am passionate about community engagement around diversity , and I am determined to champion policies and initiatives that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents.
